My way with Horses

I see the horse as an intelligent animal whose friendship I seek. I want an extraordinary relationship with the horse that is deep and abiding. This is my journey.

I seek to build this relationship with a horse, where we become best friends and I a strong leader by earning the horse’s trust and respect. If I can do this, then the horse will give me willingness. The horse already has an abundance of integrity and truth and is ready to give me respect but it can only be earned.

I want my horse to live in a herd of other horses that remains stable and in a large natural environment where they can run free and find shelter. Where there is a continuous supply of grass hay in addition to green grass and herbs.

I barefoot trim my horse’s hooves, use spliced rope halters loop ropes, cordeos and bitless bridles.

I avoid discomfort with horses, don’t use force, punishment or food, but instead subtle communication through body language and patience.

My way is soft, beautiful and brings much joy. It is the merging of two beings into one purpose. It is a journey.
