Our work depends upon the establishment of a deep and abiding relationship between you and your horse. This relationship is based on softness, trust and subtle communication through the use of body language. This is why we refer to our work as ‘whispering’.

We generally prefer to work with you and your horse alone as this allows us to tailor the work to your individual needs and requirements. Ideally, you will be around when we work with your horse – this helps you understand the process, gain confidence and build a solid foundation for good horsemanship.


So who are we at Steeve Croucher Horse Whispering?
We are a small group led by myself, Steeve Croucher, and several assistants as required. I discovered horses rather later in life which allowed me to approach horsemanship in a fresh and unprejudiced way. That is not to say my way with horses is new. In fact what I teach and how I work has its foundations in antiquity. But these ways have been largely ignored and lost in modern times. I am based in Coffs Harbour on the north coast of New South Wales, Australia.

For me the horse’s welfare is paramount in respect to training, boarding and feeding. In the horse and rider relationship, I seek to develop you as a strong leader and your horse as a best friend.

Our commitment is to you and your horse in the achievement of exceptionally good horsemanship. We work at your pace supporting you through the process by providing a safe, congenial and fun learning environment. Be prepared to laugh!

We find no need to employ punishment and mechanical aids. Aside from your horse, we use sports psychology to prepare you to reach your potential as a rider. We work with riders of all abilities and horses at various stages of development.

Our belief is that work with horses should know few limitations – if you can imagine it, working together, we like to believe we can bring it to pass. The goal of our work is for you and your horse to achieve collected riding on a loose rein.
